Phantom Blade Zero System Requirements for PC

Official minimum, recommended, ray tracing and path tracing specs, with clear notes on upscaling, storage and information that remains unknown.

Fact-checked August 12, 2026

Official baseline, published August 12

The Phantom Blade Zero system requirements start at 16 GB RAM, a GTX 1660 6 GB or RX 5500 XT 8 GB, DirectX 12 and an SSD.

Official Phantom Blade Zero system requirements

S-GAME published the first official Phantom Blade Zero system requirements on August 12, 2026. This matters because many pages currently ranking for the query still label estimated hardware as a forecast. The tables below use the developer's new specification page, with the Steam listing used as a cross-check.

Source discrepancy we found

S-GAME's announcement lists an Intel Core i7-8700K for the minimum tier. Steam currently displays "Intel Core i5-8700K," which is not a normal retail processor name. We use S-GAME's i7-8700K wording and flag the mismatch instead of silently copying the storefront typo.

Can your PC meet the Phantom Blade Zero system requirements?

Start by comparing the complete tier, not only the graphics card. A GTX 1660 meets the published minimum GPU, but the Phantom Blade Zero system requirements also call for 16 GB RAM, a six-core Ryzen 5 3600 or the listed Intel processor, DirectX 12 and SSD installation. A weaker component can become the practical limit even when the GPU name matches.

GPU check for Phantom Blade Zero

The GTX 1660 and RX 5500 XT are the minimum reference points. That tier targets 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling, so it should not be read as a promise of native 1080p, high settings or a locked frame rate in every area. For 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling, the official Phantom Blade Zero system requirements move to an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT.

CPU and RAM check for Phantom Blade Zero

Both tiers list 16 GB RAM. The recommended CPU choices are the Core i5-10600K and Ryzen 5 5600X. Players with an older four-core CPU should not assume that a stronger graphics card will fully compensate. Fast combat, streaming between detailed environments and shader work can also place pressure on the processor, although launch benchmarks are needed before any exact bottleneck claim is reliable.

SSD and free-space check

An SSD is mandatory in the Phantom Blade Zero system requirements. S-GAME does not say that it must be NVMe, and neither the official announcement nor Steam currently publishes the storage capacity. Pages claiming a 50 GB, 80 GB or 100 GB download are using estimates unless they cite a newer official listing. Leave enough space for the eventual game files and patching overhead, but do not treat an invented number as a requirement.

What the Phantom Blade Zero PC performance targets mean

The most important footnote in the Phantom Blade Zero system requirements is "with upscaling enabled." Upscaling renders the game internally at a lower resolution and reconstructs the output. S-GAME has confirmed DLSS 4 support in its RTX presentation, but the requirements page does not identify the exact upscaler, quality preset or graphics preset used for each published target.

Minimum does not mean high settings

The minimum tier describes a 1080p output at 30 FPS. It does not promise high texture quality, ray tracing or a native-resolution image. It is best understood as the official floor for playing the game under the specified conditions. Real performance may change with drivers, launch patches, crowded combat scenes and the final menu settings.

Recommended does not mean native 1440p

The recommended tier targets 1440p at 60 FPS, again with upscaling enabled. This is useful because it states both resolution and frame rate, something older Phantom Blade Zero system requirements forecasts could not verify. It still leaves graphics preset, upscaling quality, frame pacing and minimum frame rate unanswered.

Phantom Blade Zero ray tracing requirements

Ray tracing recommended

RTX 5060 8 GB at 1080p and 60 FPS

S-GAME recommends an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8 GB for its ray tracing target. The listed output is 1080p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled.

S-GAME only publishes a GPU and performance target for these advanced tiers. It does not provide separate ray tracing CPU, RAM or storage values. The Phantom Blade Zero system requirements also do not name equivalent AMD ray tracing hardware. That absence should be reported as unpublished, not interpreted as proof that AMD cards cannot run the effects.

Path tracing is the most demanding listed mode and should not be confused with the recommended specification for normal play. Players who do not own an RTX 5080 can still compare their systems with the minimum or standard recommended tiers. The creative director has also said that the studio worked to preserve the core visual style without requiring ray tracing.

Denuvo, controller support and other PC details

PC DRMDenuvo disclosed
Steam inputFull controller support
SSD sizeNot published

Steam states that Phantom Blade Zero incorporates third-party Denuvo anti-tamper DRM. It also lists full controller support and identifies Xbox and PlayStation controllers in Steam's interface. That controller information describes input on PC. It does not confirm an Xbox console edition.

Keyboard layout, mouse behavior, key rebinding, ultrawide resolutions, HDR modes, shader compilation, frame-generation settings and Steam Deck status are not fully documented. Those topics need final menus, developer documentation or launch testing. They are outside the confirmed Phantom Blade Zero system requirements today.

What we will update after launch

Official specifications are a baseline, not a benchmark. After release, this page should add measured frame rates, tested graphics presets, VRAM behavior, CPU scaling and known stutter issues. Each result must identify the hardware, driver, game version and test location.

Frequently asked questions

Can a GTX 1660 run Phantom Blade Zero?

Yes, according to the official Phantom Blade Zero system requirements. S-GAME lists a GTX 1660 6 GB for 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling enabled. Your CPU, drivers, settings and launch patches can still affect actual performance.

How much RAM does Phantom Blade Zero need?

The minimum and recommended Phantom Blade Zero system requirements both list 16 GB of RAM. S-GAME has not published a separate higher RAM figure for ray tracing or path tracing.

Does Phantom Blade Zero require an SSD?

Yes. An SSD is required in both published PC tiers. The official Phantom Blade Zero system requirements do not state whether an NVMe drive is mandatory, so a specific SSD interface should not be assumed.

Does Phantom Blade Zero use Denuvo?

Yes. Steam currently states that the PC version incorporates third-party Denuvo anti-tamper DRM. The storefront does not fully explain launch-day offline behavior or activation limits.

What GPU is recommended for Phantom Blade Zero at 1440p?

S-GAME recommends an RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB for 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. Native 1440p performance is not specified.

How much storage does Phantom Blade Zero need?

The required storage capacity is unknown as of August 12, 2026. The official Phantom Blade Zero system requirements say that an SSD is required but do not publish a download size or free-space figure.

Can Phantom Blade Zero run on Steam Deck?

Steam Deck compatibility has not been announced or verified. The published minimum GPU target and Denuvo listing are not enough to predict a reliable compatibility rating before testing.
